Chimes Spa Retreat
Take a look at some of the attractions
I stayed in this quaint little retreat for a night and didn't manage to check-in in time however, the instructions left behind to locate and get to the rooms were easy enough to understand. The in-room spa was superb but that's just icing on the cake. The stay was extremely comfortable with all needed amenities thought out. There's a DVD library in case Netflix wasn't enough plus a list of nearby restaurants and takeaways for the guests' perusal. Thanks to the friendly staffs at Chimes! It was my first visit but definitely not last.
I booked the best view with the most exciting spa layout as a special treat for my husbands birthday....really wanted to totally spoil him and I wasn't disappointed in any way. I knew it felt unusual from the distinctive split level....upper room was the bed and balcony, mid way down is the shower and toilet and the spa is sunken into the boudoir...surrounded by candles and a seating arrangement it feels quite Moroccan and its a great touch. Loved the breakfast room...with a great view its hard not to feel relaxed and spoilt. Booked several spa treatments (my main reason for choosing this particular establishment), and they didn't disappoint. Our hosts are easy going...and we liked the way we had time to speak to each of them, between breakfasts. My husband left a gilet by mistake at the Rickety Gate Winery, it was no trouble for Jack to contact them and organise for it to be dropped in....so kind and took any stress of returning away. We shall definitely be returning.....
We had a lovely time and enjoyed the spa treatments, courtesy port and little cakes left out at night and gourmet continental breakfast. The burcher muesli was a real treat with yoghurt and stewed fruit. There were also cooked breakfast on offer for just $12. We had an ocean view room with a beautiful inviting spa. Needless to say we enjoyed Chimes and the area. So green and located in the winery area. Not far from town. Thank you and we hope to return. The Keoghs
We had a tower suite, because it was the only room left. It was a big room, spa bath, separate bathroom with shower and toilet on the first level, the bedroom on the second level under the roof. From the bedroom a small balcony with great views from the ocean, a nice place to drink your coffee. Great welcome by Jack, lovely complimentary coffee in the lobby (Jura machine). We only stayed 1 night and didn´t had the time to visit the spa. Breakfast was good: buffet and 1 choice of the menu.
We only stayed one night at Chimes and had to bring forward the booking one week. This was handled considerately by Elisabeth and Jack. The attention to guests was perfectly charming and unintrusive. The extra touches were appreciated, especially the port on a wet night. However, beware if you order one of their platters - they are huge, we had ours for dinner and breakfast and still didn't finish it! Overall a most enjoyable experience and one we will definitely repeat, but for longer next time.
We stayed at Chimes for two nights in November because we were attending a wedding at the Southern Resort next door. What a fantastic choice it was! Elisabeth and Jack made us feel very welcome, they are great hosts and went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed. The views from the lounge and deck are fabulous, I could have just sat there all day long! Our room was at the back with views to a stream and the gardens. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast on our first morning; complementary Port is laid out in the evenings if you feel like a night cap. On the morning of the wedding, I had my nails done in the day spa. Then Elisabeth directed us to a pathway that leads directly from Chimes to the wedding venue, so it was very convenient and meant that we could have a drink without worrying about driving back! By the end of our short stay it felt like we’d been visiting family, it was all so nice and friendly and so very welcoming! We will definitely go back to Chimes if we’re ever in Denmark.
Great place, great location, lovely hosts. Really enjoyable 5 days only wished it could have been longer. Want to go again whenever we can get the opportunity. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfasts are truly enjoyable - whether just the continental or one of Elizabeth's menu choices as well. Small number of rooms so cosy and not overly busy. Plenty of space and lovely touches like complimentary port on the reception coffee table and chocolate cake and apricots in the conservatory/ Elizabeth and Jack always keen to help and a pleasure to chat to and they make you feel very welcome. The break was a real pleasure. Thank you.
Lovely experience where the staff made us extremely welcome. We only had a massage and didn't stay in the accommodation but facilities were clean and tidy from what we saw. Views were magnificent on the property! Such a beautiful place to relax. The addition of ginger tea after out massage was a nice touch. Thank you to the lovely ladies who helped us start our weekend totally chilled.
The hosts Liz and Jack were great to talk to, gave good advice, did extras for nothing, personally showed me around the grounds, great quard dog, breakfast was like a family get together, saw someone asking if they could have breakfast outside, impressive how than was done straight away. We had the multi storey room was great. Views relaxed atmosphere, just great will use this venue again and wholeheartly recommend it. Retreat is the correct terminolgy. Peter & Teresa Herman
Thank you to Chimes for a wonderful Easter break. We had the pleasure of staying 3 nights at this boutique resort and were completely thrilled with our break. From checkin to checkout nothing was to much trouble . All the little things like choc brownies for afternoon tea with complimentary coffee and tea and even down to an complimentary evening port.
lovely and relaxing stay. really enjoyed the serenity this place has to offer. feels like a home away from home. Thanks muchly to lovely owners Jack and Elisabeth :) will definitely be coming back soon
What a magnificent place to stay and the owners are truly wonderful and can't do enough for you. We'll never stay anywhere else when we're down here, simply stunning and SO relaxing. It's even a short but beautiful drive up Mount Shadforth Road to get there.
We had to be in Denmark for a wedding. Chimes was right next doir and just beautiful. So wonderfully quiet and relaxing. A gorgeous view from the spa overlooking ocean and valley. Loved it completely. And lovely hosts too.
I visited Chimes Spa Retreat last year as my body mind & soul was craving a CleanZing Turkish bath - instead of flying to Turkey I opted to drive from Perth to Denmark WA and stayed at Chimes for 2nights. My room was SO warm n cosy and I LoVed having the jacuzzi hot tub in my room too - AbSOULute Blisssssssss. Stunning veiws, fabulous staff, Inspiring decor and the best Turkish bath experience here in Western Australia. Thank You Chimes :-) ♥♥ ♥♥
What a gorgeous place to stay! Love the little touches all over the retreat - makes us feel so welcome! Love it!!!
Thank you Jack & Elizabeth for the most amazing hospitality. Love the improvements/ renos too. Can't wait for my next visit. My folks are going to love the voucher and stay. For those who haven't been, this is a MUST if your in the Southwest region or planning a trip. This has been my 6th stay and I drive a few hundred kilometers extra just to stay here instead of staying in Busselton on my way to Albany because it's so worth it!!! I'd give it a 6 star rating if I could.
We had the most amazing relaxing weekend at this resort - Jack and Elizabeth could not do enough for us - thank you for a lovely time - can highly recommend this place and will definitely be back !
"Quiet and peaceful, but close to town. The location is tranquil, with good views. The facilities are distinctive, value is affordable, service is professional, clean; spick and span."
